How to Fix Embedded Foundation Anchor Bolts | Installation Guide

Embedded Foundation Anchor Bolts: Standard Fixing Methods & Construction Installation Guide

The fixing quality of pre‑embedded bolts directly determines the bearing capacity and safety of the whole project. Correct construction procedures can effectively avoid bolt displacement, floating and loosening during concrete pouring.

Four Main Fixing Methods for Embedded Foundation Anchor Bolts

1. Direct Pre‑embedding Fixing Method (One‑time Pouring)

This is the most widely used traditional construction solution.
1. Fix the whole anchor bolt assembly on the steel reinforcement cage by binding or spot welding;
2. Lock the vertical position with positioning template to prevent offset;
3. Pour concrete in one go and finish curing.

Advantages: High bonding strength between bolt hook and concrete, stable pull‑out resistance, suitable for heavy‑load buildings and steel‑structure workshops.

Applicable scenario: Conventional civil construction, factory foundation, solar support base.

Secondary Grouting Fixing Method (Reserved Hole Embedding)

Reserve a rectangular or circular hole in the concrete base during the first pouring. After concrete initial setting, place the anchor bolt into the reserved cavity and fill the gap with non‑shrinkage grouting material.
Advantages: Easy position adjustment, convenient for on‑site correction of mounting tolerance.
Applicable scenario: Mechanical equipment base, later‑installed heavy machinery.

Positioning Bracket Welding Fixing Method

Custom metal positioning frames are manufactured according to bolt layout drawings. All anchor bolts are fixed on the bracket as an integral component before pouring.
Advantages: High installation accuracy, small position deviation for multi‑bolt group.
Applicable scenario: Large steel‑structure buildings, bridge supports, tower foundations with strict dimensional requirements.

Post‑installed Fixing Method (Chemical / Mechanical Expansion Alternative)

When pre‑embedding is missed during construction, post‑installed anchoring products can be adopted as an alternative solution. It is not a real embedded foundation bolt, but serves the same fixing purpose.
Applicable scenario: Renovation project, reconstruction and reinforcement engineering.
