One article to understand the use of double end threaded rods in building structures, how to use them and what to pay attention to

What is the specific use of double threaded rod in construction?

Tightening and reinforcement
For example, if you need to add support between two walls, use a double threaded rod to pass through, tighten the nuts at both ends to prevent the wall from tilting.

The beams of steel structure factories are connected and fixed with it to enhance stability.
Adjust height/position (like a “telescopic rod”)
The template (shell for pouring concrete) on the construction site needs to be adjusted for flatness, and the height can be fine-tuned by screwing the screw.
Temporary brackets (such as stage frames) can be quickly adjusted to the level with it.
Temporary fixation (like a “large clamp”)
When installing pipes, use it to clamp the steel pipes and then weld them to prevent displacement.
When constructing bridges, fix prefabricated parts to facilitate angle adjustment.

Insert the double threaded rod into the two holes to be connected (such as the holes of the steel beam and the slots of the formwork).

Tighten the nuts at both ends:

Adjust the distance:

Lock and prevent loosening:

Be sure to use double nuts to counter-tighten (tighten the two nuts against each other), or add spring washers, otherwise they will loosen after long-term vibration.

Commonly used double threaded rod on construction sites:

When setting up scaffolding, the connection between the vertical pole and the horizontal pole is shaking? Put in a double end threaded rods, tighten both ends, and it will be stable immediately!

Precautions for using double threaded rods Be sure to prevent loosening!

The building vibrates violently, and ordinary nuts are easy to loosen. Double nuts or anti-loosening washers must be used

Don’t overload
The lead screws are thick and thin (such as M12 double end threaded rods, M16 double end threaded rods), and the load-bearing capacity is different. Don’t use small thin rods to support the beams!

Regular inspection
The construction site is exposed to wind and rain, and the threads will get stuck if they are rusted. Check once a month and spray some rust remover if they are rusted.

Align and then tighten
If the holes are not aligned and tightened hard, the lead screw will bend, the threads bar will be bald, and it will be scrapped directly!

Spray some oil when disassembling
Can’t be disassembled after a long time? Spray some WD-40 to lubricate it, don’t hit it hard, the double end threaded rods can be reused.
