Learn the standard spacing for ceiling threaded rods. Covers residential, commercial, bathroom and large-area ceiling installation, ensure stability and safety.
For standard interior gypsum board ceilings and light-gauge steel keel ceilings, the standard spacing for vertical suspension rods is 900 mm to 1200 mm. When used with main keels, the threaded rods must be positioned to align with the main keel attachment points; this is the most common specification in residential renovation and represents the industry’s mainstream construction standard.
Standard room ceilings (living rooms, bedrooms, etc.): Recommended threaded rod spacing is within 1,000 mm.
Kitchen and bathroom ceilings (aluminum snap-in panels/integrated ceiling systems; subject to high moisture and uneven localized loads): Reduce spacing to 800–900 mm to enhance resistance to deformation.
Medium-sized commercial ceilings (offices, corridors, retail shops, etc.): Standard spacing is 900–1,100 mm.
Large-scale, heavy-load commercial ceilings (shopping malls, exhibition halls, factories, etc., featuring additional equipment, lighting fixtures, and air ducts): Reduce threaded rod spacing to 600–800 mm; use a denser layout to increase load-bearing capacity.
Curved ceilings, stepped/textured ceilings, and ceilings with localized thickening: Uniformly reduce threaded rod spacing to 600–800 mm to prevent cracking or sagging of the ceiling structure.
