Stainless steel wedge anchors (through bolt) are the most common fasteners for fixing stair guardrails and handrails. As safety‑critical components for pedestrian protection, the installation of wedge anchors directly affects the long‑term stability of stair railings. Construction teams and contractors need to follow a set of standardized rules to avoid safety hazards.

First, inspect the concrete substrate before drilling.

Wedge anchors only work reliably on solid, intact concrete. Hollow concrete, cracked floors, loose plaster or lightweight blocks cannot provide sufficient holding force. If the stair base has hollowing and damage, reinforcement treatment is required before construction.

Second, strictly control the drilling and embedment depth.

Each specification of wedge anchor has a fixed minimum embedment depth. The drill hole depth must reserve extra space for dust removal.
